Trauma Responsive Mentoring (TRes-M)©️

There may be occasions when, as a mentor, you need to respond when your mentee or someone else who values your advice and support has faced a difficult situation and as a result is facing some difficulty themselves. The Trauma Responsive Mentoring approach (TRes-M) is a combination of the mentoring skills developed through the Introduction to Mentoring programme, Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness Approaches and the Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) process used in the Armed Forces and Emergency Services. Further training is available for any mentor who wishes to be able to use Trauma Responsive Mentoring (TRes-M). The aim of the initial training is simply to raise your own awareness of traumatic responses so that you are able to identify when your mentee or another person may benefit from a more detailed assessment and perhaps subsequent further professional assistance. It can lead to further training which will enable you to provide Trauma Responsive Mentoring, a process that also requires supervision and experience.
